GA's

just read this:

Was told that it was ok to circulate this. It may have already been
sent to Backstreets as well.

Subject: GA floor

Addressing a few GA floor concerns:

I have read every one of the fans e-mails sent to me and have been
walking the floors prior to our shows for quite a few years. The
consensus of handling the GA with a numbered wrist band control of
some sort is the fairest. The base of the process we would like to
use everywhere would be to give out wrist bands from XX :AM until 5:00
PM. At 5:00 (these times to be decided by venue security and Jerry)
there would be a number chosen to be # 1. Then people from that number
to the pit capacity decided by venue security and Jerry would be would
be given a second wrist band for line up for pit access. They would
keep the first wrist band on. Then entering as directed by venue.
These wrist bands would be supplied by us. If there is need of a venue
wristband for number control assurance I see no problem with that and
it's one more souvenir for the fan. I realize this still leaves the
dilemma for fans who have to work and can't get there before 5:00 but
we have to have some standard and while not perfect for all this seems
the fairest. As Jerry reaches a plan for each venue ahead of time we
will then feed this infomation out though the logical sources
including venue sites so people can feel they know what's going on. In
particular it would be great if we could let people know ahead of time
where this will all happen so they don't spend their time walking
around the building looking for the correct place to obtain their
bands. The one thing I will reiterate here is we have no intention
anywhere of dealing with the sharpie self regulated modes of some fan
groups. I think this will successfully be our plan for the majority of
our venues and our goal is that whatever the plan we will have the
information out ahead of time for the fans.

Next: Fans who come early come hoping for the chance to get their GA
positions and also for many just as importantly to spend some time
with other "Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band friends". The
issue for many venues is what to do for these people who just want to
be with each other for the day. If there is a place near the venue
where these people could safely get together we would appreciate it.
We all understand that this may not be possible if for no other reason
that the liability factor the venue faces with gatherings of people in
general. The need for additional security and EMT personnel is a real
factor that everyone appreciates. We understand if the venue can't do
this until a certain hour due to staffing. If there is the ability to
do this we would like to let the fans know what time they could go
where. so,, that's where we're at at this time and I figure maybe some
will feel a little less concerned knowing we do have intent. Thanks,
GT

so, no pit for me then. i think i kind of sucks that the only way you can get up close is to spend the entire day at the venue.

could you scoot there at lunch for the wristband and then be back before 5? guess this would only work if Gypsy Miker was still retired at that time.

that's just it. everyone you were planning to go to the show with has be be able to sacrifice their entire day. say you were lucky enough to score 4 GAs, all 4 of you would have to be there to get wristbands together. or take the everyman for himself approach with kind of sucks if you're trying to have a fun night out with your friends. i'd like if they could do a lottery for your whole ticket order at random. All GAs will call only then when you arrive with your entire party you find out if your in or not.

yeah I see what you're saying. perhaps i'm an every man for himself kinda gal ;) but seeing as I don't even OWN said tickets, but EdE does, perhaps I should just shut up :)

I still think they should implement the U2 scanning approach to GAs and scan tickets to see if you get in the pit. If you get into the pit, the scanner will display MAGIC on the screen, the ticket attendent then places you and your companion in a tall booth with a curtain and you are MAGICALLY transported to the pit.
