Sound was pretty much horrible in the Wachovia Center last night. It really makes me wonder, is this a by product of the building or the equipment or what? I thought the sound in Hartford was good. Last night it was...how can I even describe it? Almost too loud. Is that possible? Don't know the reason behind it but the camp really needs to figure it out.
The encores need to be tightened up a bit. NO ONE is catching on to the Thundercrack thing. Not even in Philly. Wasn't the song practically invented there??? ;)

My 2 cents - Good - at times Very Good/Great - show. Still a "Work in Progress" with the potential for some epic shows because the majority of the new songs already sound great live. They just need to put the pieces together a little bit better.
The main set was mostly excellent. The first 4 tunes were jet powered. The "Reason To Believe/Candy's/She's the One" trio was terrific. And the last 5 songs of the 'main set' were flying, with the 3 new songs fitting nicely with The Rising and Badlands.
The encores definitely need some work - too slow to start, garbled vocals to close (the sound man probably is still being flogged by "The Boss").
forgot to mention on the way out the guy standing next to me heading out of our section, rated the show a "C". not sure what his grading scale was based on but there you have it!

Hey - it was great to see/meet/re-meet all of you on Friday. Thanks again to Ed E who hooked me up with the ticket! There's a small part of me that wishes I was at night 2 as well after seeing the set list on backstreets.com, but I will admit I was sound asleep by 11pm that night! I hope to see all of you again in 2008!
