just my thoughts !
at least someone speaks to me! I'm pretty much on the same track but I feel like I can't put it all together. thanks for your thoughts.
I guess the 1st verse is about the soldier returning home from the war , the 2nd about his time at war and maybe getting injured or worse and the 3rd about a couple trying to revive their relationship but it being difficult as the soldier maybe cannot let go of his experiences.
the woman just wants to feel a nornal beat of her mans heart and hopefully ' the slow burning away of the fires of the devils arcade '
